Two of Singapore’s most renowned Pizza chains made love-ly comments to each other one day before 14 February.
Just in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day, no less.
I’m sorry Canadian Pizza, you ain’t one of the two, because you are 2-for-1 and can help yourself right?
The Post by Domino’s Pizza
On 13 February 2019, at 5:38 p.m., Domino’s uploaded a Facebook Post with the caption:
Hey Pizza Hut, we both eat pizza, live pizza and breathe pizza, so we obviously love pizzas! From one pizza lover to another, here’s a gift from the bottom of our hearts
#HappyEveryoneValentinesDay #MakeLoveNotWar
…alongside this photo:
If you can’t read the squiggly words, here goes:
“Dear Pizza Hut,
Things may be a little cold between us, but we want to fix it. Here’s a little something to warm your Valentine’s Day.
Domino’s”
A nice touch, no doubt though a hopeful marketing gimmick waiting for netizens and Pizza Hut (maybe) to catch on.
Subsequent Responses
Four hours and 54 minutes later, Pizza Hut posted a reply at 10:32 p.m. on the same day.
Dear Domino’s Pizza – Singapore, indeed, things shouldn’t be so cold at all. Here’s a little something to warm your Valentine’s Day. Much love — you’ll always have a pizz-a our heart

Well, if you aren’t aware, this Pizza Hut Hot Dot is one of their fancy marketing tools that promises hot pizzas (hence hot dot which turns red when pizza is hot and black when it is not).
Here’s a video on it:
Not bad a reply at all from Pizza Hut I would say, throwing in a good one-two jab alongside using the pun “pizz-a” while publicising their campaign.
Seeing as to how Domino’s started this though, it would be fitting for them to end it right?
Just 27 minutes after Pizza Hut’s reply, Domino’s responded:
Pizza Hut Thanks for the love. Let’s create a Domino’s effect together! Hope you enjoyed our pizzas, delivered within 30 mins, just like our reply.
Oh what burn that was though. Hotter than the hot button.
Netizens delighted
Naturally, as with all these sweet and lovely, people would be drawn to them like bees to honey.
Here are some comments from impressed netizens:
That said, there were others who chose to flame one chain or another.
I won’t of course show them here or else I would be equally guilty of cock-blocking and for spoiling the moment.
Let’s just take this time to appreciate both their marketing teams’ brilliance.
Though for the record, I’ll just state categorically that this round goes to Domino’s.
