Westies, this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for.
Yep, the long anticipated Japanese supermarket chain Don Don Donki’s opening in JCube will finally take place this weekend, so hold your sweet potato cravings until then if you’re lazy to travel all the way down to other outlets.
With the new opening of its first heartland outlet, which is wonderful news for all of us lazy homebodies, they’re not only bringing the annoyingly catchy Don Don Don Donki theme song infection to the West, but of course they’ll also be treating everyone too.
Opening Promotions
Unfortunately, the treat isn’t that they’ll be getting rid of that pesky song (shame) but something even better – special opening promotions. These sweet deals are worth tolerating the song for, at least.
From Friday, 29 Nov to Sunday, 1st Dec, shoppers will get to enjoy discounts and promotions on various snacks, groceries, and even ready made food items across the opening weekend of Don Don Donki’s seventh outlet in Singapore.
Buckle up – here come the deals.
With a minimum spend of $50, you’ll be able to snag a 1L bottle of Kikkoman Sesame Drressing for $2.90 (which goes amazing with hotpot, by the way), or a 1kg pack of Niigata Rice for just $1.
There will be discounts on various Japan-imported fruits such as apples, strawberries and mikan tangerines each day too, but they’ll only be limited to a specific quantity. So, if you want to make your trip down fruitful, make sure you’re there early!
If your kids (or yourself) just can’t get enough of those yummy and addictive Japanese snacks, they’re also offering extremely worthy bundle deals on food items.
Your colleagues won’t need to bug you about bringing back matcha flavoured KitKats back from Japan any longer.
This Don Don Donki outlet also sells ready-made food like sushi, bento boxes and takoyaki for if you’re ever hungry after a long day of shopping and need strength to carry your haul back home. It’s even more affordable now with the special opening offers.
You can even get Wagyu steaks at a cheaper price!
So get ready to stock your house up with random Japanese items and food products this weekend – and may you have the best luck in competing with the aunties who will probably be queuing outside the doors at 6am.
