Biodegradable Plastic Bags
Don Don Donki has just announced on their Facebook page that they are bringing back plastic bags, and they are set to be biodegradable.
Available at 5 cents each, these plastic bags are touted to “naturally break down over time”, thereby supporting their “commitment to sustainability.”
The eco-friendly bags will roll out from today (19 May 2025).
However, Don Don Donki has stated that it continues to “encourage all customers to bring their own reusable bags whenever possible.”

Though some Netizens have lauded the return of plastic bags at the discount store chain…
Others have questioned the need for biodegradable bags, stating that they may actually cause more harm than their routine plastic counterparts.
Several, however, just want their plastic bags as soon as possible.

Back in 2024, it was announced that Don Don Donki would be discontinuing the sale of plastic bags at all 16 outlets from 1 October 2024.
