What’s your favourite way to eat a durian? Do you love eating it from a styrofoam box, with seeds and flesh ripe for the picking or do you prefer to D.I.Y. yourself: get yourself some newspapers, a big knife and some crazy (or not so crazy) knife handling skills?
Or maybe you’re classier, only eating durian that’s been made into something—take your pick: durian mousse cake, durian pancake, durian pengat, durian whatever!
Well, no matter what kind of durian eater you are, you’ll definitely love this. Why? Because who can resist durian anything, right?! When we came across this on the net, we knew we had to share it with our durian-loving readers out there because good things are meant to be shared, no?
Goodwood Park Hotel are known for a couple of things: their super atas rooms, ulu location in an accessible area (if you don’t have a car, that is.) and their annual Durian Fiesta where they offer affordable prices that even us, mere mortals (or writers), can join in the durian galore.
For Goodwood Park Hotel’s Durian Fiesta 2016, they are offering a Dessert Buffet with “Mao Shan Wang” durian pastries only from now till 17 July 2016 for just $29.80. And don’t worry, not only do you get to enjoy durian pastries, you’ll also get non-durian treats like the nostalgic nonya kueh, hot & chilled desserts, and more!
And if that’s not enough, you’ll have a live durian pancake station where you can get freshly made durian pancake to satiate your durian fix. Bite into a piping hot pancake and relish in the burst of durian filling spilling into your mouth? Hell, yes!
Of course, they have other price options too if you’re not in the mood for only durians. Say what?!
Having been there before the previous year, I’ll warn you away from taking up both the porridge buffet and dessert buffet with durian pastries. I couldn’t eat durians to my heart’s content because I was too full from the ala carte buffet.
Don’t say I never warn you ah! You can thank me later!
