If you don’t know what Miniso is, and think that it’s just another Daiso, then you deserve to be single.
The super-atas Japanese store with We Bare Bear –

Editor: Oei, who says Miniso is Japanese?
Me: Erm, no meh? I thought it’s –
Editor: Hello, this is Goody Feed leh, cannot just anyhowly “thought”! You think I think who confirm?
Me: Okay, let me check…
Editor: Don’t know which idiot employ you
He was the one who hired me, but anyways.
After ten years of research, I’m appalled to tell you this:
Miniso isn’t exactly a Japanese store. It’s a “Chinese low-cost retailer and variety store chain that specializes in household and consumer goods including cosmetics, stationery, toys, and kitchenware”.

However, it’s founded by a Japanese and a Chinese, but is headquartered in Guangzhou, China.
The reason why it’s often been mistaken as a Japanese store? Other than their uniform that looks Japanese, the brand is also designed by a Japanese, which explains why it looks so…Japanese.
Established in 2011, it has grown exponentially, with a revenue of USD$1.6 billion in 2016 and well over 2,600 stores all over the world.
I’m not sure about other countries, but in Singapore, it’s well-known for its We Bare Bear products.

They’re so cute (and rather affordable, I may add), people flock to the stores for its soft toys.
And if you’re a fan of Miniso, their soft toys or simply want to try out a Miniso product, then it’s time to head north.
Not to Northpoint City Shopping Centre or Junction Nine to buy Toto, but to Sembawang Shopping Centre.
Because there’s a 20% discount storewide, and let’s just say that it’s not mentioned anywhere online (yet).
Miniso 20% Storewide in Sembawang Shopping Centre
20% might not be a lot, but when it’s 20% for everything, you can bet that it’ll be crowded.

The condition is that you must buy a minimum of two products, but come on: who in the right mind would head down to Miniso and just buy a pen, right?
Although the store specifically mentioned that the promotion is until 3 March 2019, I’ve a feeling that it’ll end much earlier.
I was there yesterday (23 February 2019) and even when there’s no mention of “Closing down sale”, the store is oddly empty in certain areas, as if they’re clearing out their stocks. Flattened cartons were also placed within the store, giving it a “warehouse sale” look.

Whether it’s a closing down sale or merely a sale, I’d suggest that you head down there ASAP.
But hold your horses if you think Sembawang Shopping Centre is next to Sembawang MRT Station. It’s not.
Where’s Sembawang Shopping Centre?
The shopping mall that’s just beside Sembawang MRT Station is Sun Plaza; Sembawang Shopping Centre isn’t within walking distance from any MRT station.
The easiest way to get there is via a free shuttle bus from Sembawang MRT Station or Yishun MRT Station.
