It’s finally happening.
After what seems like decades of binge-watching movies on Netflix all alone in your room while eating stale, packaged popcorn, residents will soon be able to return to the cinemas to catch the latest blockbusters from 13 July.
There’s nothing quite like watching a movie at the cinema, with the sound of a million other people crunching on popcorn and 20 minutes of insurance advertisements before the movie even begins.
And, lucky for you, the return of movies at the cinema also brings the return of another beloved Singaporean pastime – saving money.
Yes, even before cinemas have opened, the movie ticket promotions have already started.

Safe Management Measures
Fortunately for movie lovers, watching a film at the cinema will not have to be a solitary activity despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
There will be a 1-metre safe distancing requirement between patrons, but you can sit with your friends and family, limited to five patrons per group.
There will also be a limit of 50 patrons per cinema hall, and masks will have to be worn at all times, except when consuming food and drinks.
Sure, it might look a little different, but at least we’ll be able to watch films on the big screen again.
