How are your New Year’s resolutions coming along? Well, if you’re on a diet, then it’s time to throw that out of the window as I am going to let you in a (not so) little gastronomical secret.
A Weekend Sea-Fruits Mania Buffet with Mentaiko Lobsters
Nestled in the heart of a heritage enclave, Ginger at PARKROYAL on Beach Road is having a promotion on their buffet during lunch and dinner, from 19 Jan to 4 Feb on the weekends (Friday dinner, Saturday Lunch and Dinner, and Sunday Lunch and Dinner)!
Exclusively for Goody Feed readers (because we love you so much), you would be able to enjoy a full-fledged hotel buffet replete with seafood like lobsters, tender meat, local favourites and saccharine desserts for only $54.50 (U.P. $68++)—simply quote “Goody Feed – Ginger Lobsters” when making reservations!
Here’s a brief walk-through (to make you even hungrier).
Mentaiko Lobsters
I am sorry guys, but I have to say what stole the limelight for me (and my colleague, no doubt) was the Mentaiko Lobsters.
Taking the centre stage, these Boston lobsters are baked first, and then it gets topped with the super-addictive mentaiko sauce that is torched to perfection, a la minute.
Voila, the final product!
The world is your oyster—in this case, it is the Boston lobsters as it featured a myriad of flavours in my mouth.
The lobster was juicy and tender, and the mentaiko sauce was, for a lack of a better word, simply divine.
Crabs Galore!
Calling all crab enthusiasts, be ready to tuck into their monstrous crab offerings!
Steamed Crab with Sliced Aged Coconut is an uncanny marriage that works. The light-as-air coconut broth adds a hint of sweetness to the meat; you will end up savouring every drop of the broth but hey, it is a buffet, so no one is going to judge you if you go for second or third helpings.
Their other two crab needs no introduction to local foodies: Black Pepper Crabs and Chilli Crabs.
Don’t forget to dip into the latter’s sauce with their version of the mantou bun: sliced white bread that is deep-fried!
Eat more!
There will be a smorgasbord of tantalising entree that is fit for a king or queen and not to mention, you won’t be breaking the bank.
Next, the local dishes: For those who have a penchant for local fare, you will be glad to know that they have upped the ante by only using quality ingredients in their dishes—Herbal Bak Kut Teh, Oyster Omelette and Braised Pork Intestine.
Like the moniker of the buffet suggests, they have infused fruits and seafood to their extensive buffet spread, so help yourself to their ingenious creations, including the Roast Beef With Apple & Prune Served with Calvados Sauce, Vietnamese Crispy Pork Trotters with Water Chestnut and Baked Salmon with Grapefruit.
Don’t forget to check out their Gem on Ice which features a medley of oceanic “gems” such as prawns and clams.
After all that glorious feasting, one will always have space for desserts.
While they do have a section dedicated to patisseries and desserts, you must try their Deep-Fried Strawberry with Vanilla Sauce & Mint.
