Cute things seem to be the trend nowadays, and the statistics speak. After all, there’s a reason why there’s such a high demand for things like…
- Kpop boy members
- Animals
- Steven Lim’s Meow Meow videos
- We Bare Bears plushies
- ‘We Bare All’ Uncle Foundation
- Hello Kitty
- etc. etc.
And it seems that EZ-Link, for one, has really hopped onto the bandwagon. For a long time, they’ve been dabbling with all sorts of cute designs, ranging from the indomitable Pokemon to the magical Harry Potter.
And it certainly appears to be working too, seeing how the Snorlax EZ-Link charms, which they marketed just recently, sold out within the day it was out.
Colour me amazed.
As such, I really see no reason why their latest release wouldn’t do the same, if not better, seeing how their move this time…
Is probably gonna make all the guys and girls squeal in unison.
Gudetama
For the manly guys & girls who’ve sworn off all cute things in a bid to become the manliest creatures on Earth, here’s a layman’s gist of what Gudetama is all about:
It’s a lazy egg yolk with a butt crack.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, people around the world are going crazy over… a yellow buttcrack. But hey, who am I to judge?
Anyway, as mentioned above, EZ-Link will be releasing a Gudetama EZ-Link charm, and from the looks of it…
We’re expecting it to sell out within hours (or minutes) too.
Just look at it:
Cute, runny and impossibly lazy, what more could you possibly want for an EZ-Link card?
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
I know, I know; you’re totally thirsty for some runny eggs. So hey here’re some deets because you know you want them.
For starters, the Gudetama EZ-Charm will be launched first thing on 28 December, via online market platform Lazada.
The accessory/functionality will be retailing for S$14.90, and it will come with no stored value. The EZ-Link charm will come in at 4cm(length) x 4cm(height) x 0.1cm(width).
So really, what’re you waiting for?
EZ-Link Charm
Lest you’re wondering, an EZ-Link charm works just like any EZ-Link card, and can be used on buses, trains, taxis and for retail payment (please don’t tell me you don’t know what EZ-Link is).
Although unlike EZ-Link cards, however, they usually come with a three-year validity, which means that once they pass the three-year mark it’s effectively just that:
A trinket.
But hey, seeing how cute this particular trinket is, we reckon it’s useful even as a mere accessory.
