Hands up if you’ve yet to buy your CNY clothes.
If so, chances are you’re an uncle like me who don’t see the need for new clothes just because it’s a new year. And you’re an uncle like me who likes Hush Puppies apparels.
Because what else is comfy, cute, affordable and most importantly, reflects your age well?
If you’re like me who DGAF about fashion and just want something to don over every day, this would interest you:
Hush Puppies Warehouse Sale.
And most importantly, it’s at Bukit Batok, where our office is located, so you can come visit us with some rotten eggs if you hate us as much as you hate our app!
Hush Puppies Warehouse Sale
Lest you’re unaware, Hush Puppies is owned by Wolverine.
Not this Wolverine; this Wolverine.
Founded in 1958, it was initially Incorporated as a brand for military wear for the US military. Stuff happened, and eventually it became the casual footwear we know today that makes casual clothes as well.
And just to educate you even more, the “hush” in Hush Puppies really refers to this:
Back then, the sales manager saw a customer calling his food “Hush Puppies” because the food would used by farmers to quiet barking dogs: and since the pain of new shoes is like barking dogs, “Hush Puppies” apparently is used as a name as it “hushes” your feet from barking.
The warehouse sale is, however, all about apparels, because here in Singapore, while Hush Puppies shoes are sold, its apparels are much more popular.
And this sale has got everything, from its popular Polo-T…
…to menswear…
…to ladies’ clothing…
…to kidswear…
…to its popular undergarments…
…and even free gifts!
Goody, isn’t it?
How to Get There
No one knows how to get them better than we do, since our office is pretty near the area.
While it mentions that it’s a “7-minute walk” from Bukit Batok MRT Station, that might be a stretch and I highly advise you not to walk there: I don’t know how the seven minute is calculated, but from our experience, it’s going to take more than that time unless you cut through walls and trees.
And to prove my point, I used Google Maps to calculate the time and it takes about 17 minutes.
In fact, I still doubt that—it might take longer and the worst part of it is that you’re going to be walking on footpaths with no shops around, so it’s going to be a boring walk.
Instead, I’ll suggest you to take 189 from Bukit Batok MRT Station or Clementi MRT Station (yes, Clementi is quite near Bukit Batok).
Alight at this stop.
It’s the fourth stop if you take the bus from Bukit Batok MRT Station, or the 8th stop if you take from Clementi MRT Station. Turn on your GPS lest you miscount the stops, as the distance between stops from Clementi is rather far.
Do note that if you’re taking from Clementi, you’ll take it from the bus stop below the MRT station (towards Jurong) and not at the bus interchange.
If you’re driving, finding a lot at the industrial area is going to be a pain in the butt if you’re going during office hours, so I suggest you to park here instead.
It’s technically the car park for the industrial area but farther away. But hey, at least you won’t need to circle around just to find a lot. Cut through the industrial area to get to the warehouse sale.
And if you’re around the area, the good food there is…
Okay, there’s no good food around here. Just buy your stuff and go back home.
