Don’t Say Bojio: LJS Has a Whole Battered Soft-Shell Crab with Rice for Just $8.90

Okay, we’re a tad late on this, but like what a wise man once said, it’s always better to be late than never, so here goes.

McDonald’s is having Nasi Lemak Burger.

Wait, that’s way toooooo late? Okay then, here’s a more recent one.

Long John Silver’s is having a battered soft-shell crab with rice in chilli crab sauce, and with a coupon, you can get it at just $8.90.

And that’s with a drink.

Apparently, this is available since 1 August 2018, and because we were all going gaga over McDonald’s and KFC’s latest menu, we forgot to turn on the Long John Silver’s channel.

Menu for National Day

The soft-shell crab rice is one of the three new items in conjunction with Singapore’s 53th birthday.

Together with it is a Cajun Chicken on Rice with Satay Sauce and the Fish & 3-PC Shrimp on Rice with Sweet and Sour Sauce.

But let’s face it: nothing screams more “Singapore” than Chilli Crab. And you’re here for the crab.

The crab-based dish is known as ho-jiak, the chicken is known as sedap and the fish is known as shiok. Very local names, except we’re not sure if they live up to their names since we haven’t tried them yet.

Coupons for You to Try Them at a Lower Price

You can be the judge of them, since there are online coupons that take $1 off the meals:

Not the First Fast-Food Chain in Singapore to Have Soft-Shell Crab

If you’re a regular Goody Feed reader, which I think you aren’t because we’re lousy like that, you’d know that recently, we tried a soft-shell crab burger from Popeyes and it’s truly sedap.

You can read our review in this app (just search for it), but on last check, it might or might not still be available.

Nevertheless, we’re 101% sure this won’t be the last time we see crabs in our favourite fast-food chains.

‘Coz it seems like fast-food chains are going the high-SES route, no?
