Durian season isn’t over yet.
A good king never rests for his citizens, and Mao Shan Wang (MSW) isn’t going out of season anytime yet…
According to Duriandelivery.com.sg, August has the cheapest MSW this year. But who do we trust? George Yang who asked us to buy it fastly or durian delivery?
Perhaps it doesn’t matter, because as long as I have Mao Shan Wang creations to eat I’m totally happy.
Old Chang Kee Mao Shan Wang Durian Puff from 1 August 2019
Each puff sells at S$3.30, and if you buy 2, it’s S$6.00.
You saw that right, this isn’t some crazy creation like the Durian Curry Chicken’O where they mixed durian into curry. It’s pure durian goodness encased in a green buttery pastry puff.
No one in their right mind will say that adding butter will make something taste worst. If something tastes bad, the answer is you’re not adding enough butter.
It’s like nature’s very own custard cream, approved and loved by the royalty, then made better by encasing it in a flaky crust.
Imagine biting into the fatty but not overly greasy crust that just crumbles, and luscious MSW oozes out like cheese, but better because it’s pure durian goodness.
But that’s not all!
Free OWL Kopitiam Kopi O/Kopi O Gao every 2 MSW Durian puff purchased
If you thought Kopi went well with durian, you’d be absolutely right. There’s a reason why Malaysia sells durian flavoured kopi right?
In this case, it’s not something you have to argue, cause Old Chang Kee is offering free Kopi with your durian puff purchase.
Specifically, OWL Kopitiam Roast & Ground — Kopi O/Kopi O Gao set with 2 sachets inside.
So buying 2 puffs not only saves you a whopping SIXTY cents, the OWL Kopitiam Roast & Ground — Kopi O/Kopi O Gao is said to be worth S$1.80 per set, bringing it up to a S$2.40 free value.
It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
The bad part? It’s only for a limited time, though we’re not told when is this limit.
So… time to camp Old Chang Kee on 1st Aug?
Soon guys, just a little more.
It might just be as good as it looks and sounds.
I’ll be waiting with anticipation.
