Like it or not, the Pokemon craze is here to stay.
In fact, it’s been on steroids recently right here in Singapore. Other than them landing (and dancing) in AMK Hub, Jurong Point and Thomson Plaza, Pikachus would also be marching in Sentosa on two weekends in December.
And I’ve yet to mention about the new Pokemon movie that features real-life Pokemons and even Pikachu Christmas EZ-Link charms.
Guess we’re no longer catching these virtual creatures anymore as they’ve captured our hearts.
I mean, look at the modern Pikachu.
Awww…it’s so fluffy, I’m gonna die.
And if you want to take a picture with a real Pikachu, you’re in luck because the yellow creature is making a trip to nex for a photoshoot with you.
No, I’m serious. He’s not just dancing on stage or marching on a beach, but there to take picture with you.
Nex’s Takara Tomy Toy Carnival
From today (23 November 2018) to 26 November 2018, there will be a toy carnival in nex.
Lots of toys would be available, including Beyblade…
…cars models that boys like…
…car models that guys like (not for sale, BTW)…
…and Pokemon soft toys.
Here’s what you can expect:
And to make the event even more lit, real-life Pikachu, who looks overweight, would be in the mall from 23 November to 25 November at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to “meet and greet”.
Pikachu as a Santa Claus?
Ah, who cares about the car models that guys like when you’ve got the yellow cutie pie, right?
Interesting Facts You Probably Didn’t Know & Should Know
Lest you’ve not noticed, Pokemons have come to four malls: AMK Hub, Jurong Point, Thomson Plaza and now, nex.
You might be thinking that Pikachu simply alight at whatever MRT stations he feels like to meet his fans, right?
Well, no.
These malls all have a link: they’re owned by a same owner, Mercatus Co-operative Limited.
So Pikachu didn’t just anyhowly go to any mall; he’s going to the malls owned by NTUC.
Wait, what? NTUC?
Mercatus Co-operative Limited
Pretty sure you didn’t know this, but Mercatus is a social enterprise and not a for-profit company. It’s one of the NTUC social enterprises, much like NTUC FairPrice, NTUC Income or NTUC Foodfare.
Which is why you’ll notice that there’s a big NTUC Income outlet in AMK Hub.
Pretty interesting, isn’t it?
