Ginger @ PARKROYAL on Beach Road is back with their Christmas festive menu, and we are talking about a revamped buffet spread with free-flow festive meats and a generous dessert spread.

And don’t worry, despite the festive season, their popular classic dishes like Chilli Crab will still be available, though their super special Christmas menu is only available from 1 December 2018 till 1 January 2019.

Now, I know you want to know what makes this festive menu different, and you’ll be glad to know that other than goody food, it’ll also be so Instagram-worthy, you might spend a bulk of your time there feeding your Instagram Stories instead of your stomach.

Presenting to you, the highlights of Ginger’s Christmas festive menu.

Let’s start with the craving (carving) station.

No Christmas is complete without a Traditional Roasted Turkey.

This Honey Glazed Ham came highly recommended and the chef suggested pairing this with their Honey Chestnuts for maximum Christmas feels.

My jaw dropped at the sheer size of this roasted beef. And remember, it’s a buffet. You can have as much beef as you want.

Next stop? Live Station.

Truth to be told, I was really looking forward to the Live Station. Ginger recently welcomed their new Executive Chef Vincent Aw, and this his means new additions to the restaurant.

One of this addition is the Grilled Scallop with Yuzu and Shoyu. Just look at that beauty and I dare you to tell me that you’re not feeling hungry now.

Now take a peek at this Rock Lobsters Bouillabaisse. Creamy, rich sauce. Ginger really knows the way to a seafood lover’s heart (aka me).

No buffet trip can be concluded without at least 1 round to the dessert table. I may be full, but when it comes to dessert, it’s time for my second stomach to kick in (no, not my Instagram stomach, but if you’re curious, I can be found here).

And oh boy, Ginger did not disappoint.

The highlight has got to be the Gula Melaka Log Cake with Coconut Flakes. Surprisingly refreshing, this log cake is really unlike any other jelak festive cakes out there (I’m looking at you, the deceptive chocolate log cake that’s everywhere).

Gula Melaka Spongecake with a pandan and atapchi jelly on the inside, this was truly the great end to my festive meal.

Of course, I had the other desserts too, it was UH-MAZING. Even if you’re full, just feed your Instagram and make your friends “hangry”.

I also had the fortune of trying out a speciality dish from Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant, another restaurant at PARKROYAL on Beach Road.

It’s the Festive Pork Knuckle with Dried Chillies and Peppercorns. Looks scary, right? It smelled dangerous too. But you won’t regret trying it.

Do note that this dish (Festive Pork Knuckle) is only available for takeaway and won’t be served in the restaurant, along with many dishes of Ginger’s (like the turkey and ham), so that you can have a feast in the comfort of your own home. Email them for more information about takeaways!
