Don’t Say Bojio: Unlimited Fresh Seafood, Crabs & Slipper Lobsters Buffet At Just $58++

Singaporeans love good food. We love good deals too.

And normally, these are only things you can get together on weekdays, or off-peak hours because, well, these are the timings restaurants need customers.

But what if I tell you there’s a place with good food at a good price on the weekends?

That’s right, I’m totally not kidding here. No more using your precious annual leave, or rushing work in the morning so you can enjoy your afternoon off.

And it’s totally accessible for people without cars.

Weekend Seafood Buffet With Unlimited Seafood, Crabs And Slipper Lobsters

This is PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road.

And it’s conveniently located just beside City Square (Farrer Park).

Within this conveniently located hotel is a restaurant called Spice Brasserie, which is currently running a weekend all-you-can-eat seafood buffet for Singaporeans, the Oh Crab, it’s Back! Seafood Buffet.

We’re talking fresh seafood, including clams, prawns, slipper lobsters, scallops, and unlimited servings of your favourite crabs with a whole line of local cuisine.

And all that for the sweet, sweet price for less than $60++ per pax.

What You Can Expect

So, $60 sounds pretty affordable but it’s not exactly a small amount. Is this buffet worth it? Would you be disappointed when you turn up for your meal?

Here’s what we did: we’ll lay out what we found out when we sneaked into the restaurant. Shhh.

And you decide for yourself 😉

As the name suggests, the focus of the buffet is on seafood. So if you’re someone who can’t go a day without some sort of seafood in your mouth, this is for you.

Mainstays Of The Buffet

Every show must have at least one star. And for the seafood weekend buffet, it’s a dish that every Singaporean is familiar with.

The all-time favourite Chilli Crab With Mantou

The chilli crab sauce is surprisingly tangy, savoury yet not overpowering. And when paired with mantous?

Mmm.

Imagine biting into crispy-on-the-outside-soft-on-the-inside mantous, dripping with the tangy sauce of Chilli Crab.

We shall call that the male lead.

And the female lead co-starring in this show is the Stir-Fried Slipper Lobster in Black Bean Sauce.

The fragrance of the black bean beautifully complements the plump, juicy lobster flesh, making every bite an explosive one. My videographer’s words, not mine.

So no matter which you’re going for, you’re probably in for one hell of a ride.

But that’s not all.

Extended Seafood Dinner Buffet

The above two items are available for lunch and dinner buffets. But, if you decide to spend an extra $10 and go for the dinner buffet instead, you’re going to get two extra crabs added to the equation.

The Black Pepper Crabs

And the Salted Egg Yolk Crabs.

What we really liked about their crabs is that somehow, they manage to make the sauces flavourful, but so perfectly balanced they don’t overpower the taste of the crabs.

Add fresh crabs with juicy, tender flesh into the equation and you know you’re looking at the winner.

You’d probably want to eat as much of them as possible. And that’s totally fine at this buffet because all-you-can-eat, yeah?

P/S: their black pepper crabs are absolutely amazing, so make sure you grab some when you’re there, yeah?

Love Fresh Seafood?

Their seafood moniker doesn’t just extend itself to crabs; you’re more than welcome to enjoy their selection of fresh seafood on ice.

Including black mussels

Prawns and marinated clams

And, of course, lobsters.

Again, I repeat. All. You. Can. Eat. With fresh seafood on ice that’s replenished often.

So while it’s not healthy to fast the entire day for your chance to whack at this buffet? This might just be worth it.

It’s Not Just Seafood

Say, you’re allergic to seafood but your partner loves seafood as much as she loves you. Or, someone you’re bringing to the buffet isn’t partial to seafood, do they just drink water and stare at you balefully?

Nope.

Because there are tons of other stuff for them to gorge themselves on.

Including yong tau fu

A fully functioning salad bar to clear your palate between seafood

A counter dedicated to everything Japanese including fresh Salmon, Tuna, Hamachi and Swordfish sashimi.

Fried food to pair with your seafood banquet

Even a whole sea bass, steamed Hong Kong style.

And so much more.

Okay, enough about the food.

What About Drinks?

If you’re thinking a buffet of this scale gives you only stuff like Coca Cola, hot coffee or tea, think again.

With unlimited crabs and lobsters comes a DIY drinks bar.

Here, there are 12 different syrups including Yuzu, Mango and Blueberry, bottles of refreshing soda and fresh fruits like lychee and sour plum.

More than enough for you to create your own refreshing mocktails to accompany the fine food.

>You can either choose to follow the tested-and-proven recipes on the green chalkboard or take a shot at creating your own.

There’s Always Room For Dessert

Like my female friends always tell me, the greatest mystery of a woman isn’t her mind. It’s how they can have a separate stomach for desserts no matter how much they’ve eaten.

Now, if you, no matter whether male or female, have that condition too, then you’ll be psyched to know that this restaurant has one of the greatest dessert selections we’ve ever seen.

Here, we’ll let the pictures do the talking:

Plus, it’s durian season. So if you’re someone who loves durian, there’s this huge bowl waiting for you:

Yes, durian pengat. All the durian flesh you’ve ever wanted without the seeds.

They carry a selection of hot desserts as well like cheng tng and pulut hitam. Perfect for your parents if you’re bringing them to the buffet (belated Father’s Day celebration, maybe?)
