When you book and fully pay for a cruise online, you will expect to be admitted to the cruise and enjoy your holiday peacefully.
However, what you would not expect is to be denied entry rudely without any confirmation of refund, just like what this woman allegedly experienced.
Woman Denied Entry to Cruise Due to Overbooking Even When She’s Paid for Everything
TikTok user, Carys, posted her grievances on two TikTok videos of her experience with Dream Cruises. She was allegedly denied entry to the cruise despite paying for the trip in full and being on time.
This incident happened on 26 Nov, Friday.

Checked In Online
Upon arrival, Carys, did her swab test and waited for an hour for the result. The result came back negative at 6.25pm.
She proceeded to check in online before attempting to board the cruise. The last boarding time was 7pm.
That was when a landslide of issues surfaced: Carys was denied entry due to an overbooked cruise.
Overbooked Cruise
Like airlines, cruises tend to overbook their seats to cater to those who cancel last minute. However, if all of the passengers arrive and nobody cancelled at the last minute, the airline or cruise will tend to compensate the passengers in some way.
But in this case, Carys was not compensated nor given any further instructions.
Instead, she was turned away by the staff with a rude response, “Don’t you know the cruise is always overbooked?”
She was also handed a slip of paper titled “passenger denial”.
On the paper, it stated the reason “overcapacity” for the reason of denied entry.
The staff also allegedly did not apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Booked in August
Naturally, Carys was infuriated for she booked the cruise in Aug and even checked in online before heading to the cruise terminal.
Aside from the rude denial, Carys was also upset that she wasted her time travelling there, waiting for her test result and the amount she spent on parking and petrol.
Emailed Dream Cruises
In the second video, Carys said she emailed Dream Cruise to request a refund.

As of this writing, both her videos have over 124,700 views in total.
In the video, Carys commented Dream Cruises has called her and they are currently liaising further on how to proceed with the situation.
