These days, people on the street can get upset with you for all sorts of reasons.

These include:

  1. Not wearing your mask (a valid reason to get upset, most would say)
  2. Staring at someone for too long
  3. Cutting a queue
  4. Not returning your tray at the coffee shop
  5. Whistling (don’t ask)

But now, it seems that a sixth option has been added to this list, and it may be the most aggravating of them all:

6. Sitting in your car

Drunk Man Harassed Person in Car & Allegedly Tried to Smash The Side Windows

A family was allegedly harassed by a man for no apparent reason while they were seated in their car along Rangoon Road.

The incident took place at around 11.30am on Sunday (4 July), and a video of it was shared by ROADS.sg on Facebook on the same day.

The video, which has no audio, starts out with the man approaching a car and banging his fist on the bonnet.

He then wags his finger at the family in the car, while uttering something in anger.

He then slams his hand on the bonnet once again, before moving away and pointing to other cars and waving them past.

The man uses his phone for a couple of seconds, probably distracted by some cute cat videos on YouTube, and the family probably thought their nightmare was over.

But he returns to their car and started scolding them once again, for reasons no one knows.

At one point, he flags down a grey vehicle, and when the car slows down and lowers its side window, he seemingly tries to put his hand inside the car.

The grey vehicle quickly drives off before anything happens.

The man gets distracted by the cute cats on his phone once more, before rebuking the family in the car one last time.

The video ends with no resolution nor explanation for what just happened.

According to ROADS.sg, here’s what the family had to say about the incident:

“This drunk nuisance harassed another car before my family got targeted. What’s even more scary was when he tried to smash thru our side windows and break into our car by yanking our door handle many times. (Was too traumatized to capture on video unfortunately) Police came but never say how they will charge him… Seriously public nuisance!!!!!”

The family claim the man was drunk, but without a beer can in hand or hip flask in his pocket, it’s unclear how they arrived at this conclusion.

What’s clear, though, is that the man wasn’t wearing his face mask properly throughout the incident.
