Elderly Man Dies After Alleged Stabbing at Marine Parade Condo; 23-Year-Old Arrested

A 68-year-old man died on 13 Nov 2025 following an alleged stabbing incident at Laguna Park condominium in Marine Parade.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) received calls for assistance at around 12:45pm at 5000C Marine Parade Road. Officers arriving at the scene found the elderly man injured and unconscious.

A 23-year-old man was arrested for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons. Police seized two penknives as case exhibits.

The relationship between the victim and the suspect remains unclear.

Police Response and Evidence Collection at Crime Scene

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call at 1:10pm and transported the injured man to Changi General Hospital. He subsequently passed away at the hospital.

The 13th floor of Block 5000C Marine Parade Road was cordoned off following the incident. Police officers were stationed on both the 12th and 14th floors.

When Stomp arrived at the scene at around 4pm, several black evidence boxes were seen stacked on a trolley on the 14th floor. Two police vehicles were parked at the carpark below.

Residents Report Unusual Disturbance in Normally Quiet Condominium

Residents on the 14th floor told Stomp they did not hear any commotion earlier in the day. They were startled to find the staircase sealed off when they returned home.

Vincent Loy, a 73-year-old businessman living on that floor, arrived home with his wife at around 4:15pm and was surprised to find officers there. He said he rarely witnessed conflicts between neighbours and gets along well with them.

A family living on the 10th floor heard muffled sounds of shouting at around 2:45pm, which continued for about a minute. Mervin, a 44-year-old designer, described it as “a different kind of shouting” and said “something was wrong—it was not normal.”

His wife Micah, also working in design, said the shouting was audible even with their windows and doors closed. The couple has lived at the condominium for six years with their two children aged five and nine. According to them, the condo is typically quiet, and there had not been any neighbourly disputes prior to the incident.
