The last time, Elva Hsiao was spotted with a budding actor Justin Huang.
And now, there’s confirmation that the relationship is legit.
Since the previous writer on Elva Hsiao is probably crying somewhere with this confirmation, here’s what you need to know:
- Elva Hsiao is a Taiwanese singer and actor, who featured in Infernal Affairs. (Sorry, George Yang, but I had to Google who she is.)
- She dated Sunny Wang, who was 3 years younger, when starting as an actress
- They broke up, then Elva dated Kai Ko from You Are the Apple of My Eye (那些年,我们一起追的女孩) in 2012
- Then she dated Elroy Cheo, a Singaporean
- Then Michael Chen, a pro-golfer 13 years younger
- In October 2017, she was photographed with Justin Huang, who is 16 years old younger than her
Safe to say, with that dating history, she has something of an affinity with younger men.
But anyway, the relationship wasn’t confirmed or denied until Elva Hsiao’s 40th birthday.
Relationship with Justin Huang now official
On 24 Aug 2019, which happened to be Elva Hsiao’s 40th birthday, Elva posted some pics with Justin Huang on Weibo with the caption “Love means that we need to be together.”
Yep, that’s as official as it gets that the relationship is real.
Comments on Weibo were generally positive.
Elva Hsiao’s health and Justin Huang
Elva was on hiatus since 2017, and on July 2019, she uploaded a pretty disturbing video of her talking about her missing child.
The video has been removed, but in the video she said in Mandarin, “I miss my child very much. I don’t know what I should say. I’ll gradually let myself see a happier me, an (Elva) that both you and me want to see. Okay? I really feel like sleeping now…”
She then mumbled some stuff before the video cuts off.
Which was disturbing enough at this point with the child part, so netizens asked if she’s alright. Her being on hiatus also didn’t help with their concern.
As it turns out, her reply on Instagram was part bizarre and part clarification.
“nope I am just desalt my babes n fall asleep lol I think I wassleeptalking” didn’t make sense.
But the fur child part did, since it refers to her two dogs, which were unwell while she was in Beijing.
Justin Huang, the best birthday present
As for Justin, Elva’s manager said that he “is the best birthday present. When Elva was at the lowest point of her life, and was facing health issues, he protected and took care of her. Thanks everyone for their concern.”
Good for them.
Some fans asked the management company if she was pregnant or if they are married, which were both denied.
But hey, to me all that is really none of our business, unless they want to make it public.
