Singapore is a pretty over-populated country.
This is no surprise or secret. I’m sure all of us have groaned and complained countless times in our lives when the crowd or queue makes life difficult.
Drivers have it even harder, as they’ve purchased a car in the hopes that it makes their travelling life more convenient, only to be stuck in a traffic jam every now and then.
That’s when they really thank the government for COE. Without that, imagine how many more cars there would be.
You groan in your car as it inches forward slightly every few seconds. And then eventually, you drive by the source of the traffic jam.
“Walao, got accident. No wonder la.”
If this were you yesterday (21 August) on Bras Basah Road, you probably witnessed the aftermath of a pretty crazy accident.
Multi-Vehicle Accident at Bras Basah
On the afternoon of 21 August 2019 at around 4:30 pm, three vehicles were involved in a major collision at 75 Bras Basah Road (towards Raffles Boulevard, after Prinsep Street).
As seen in the image, one of the vehicles appeared to have smashed right into the sidewalk outside the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd.
Shattered glass was sprinkled all over the pavement while the railings of the cathedral were damaged along with a Bras Basah Rd road sign.
The SCDF was alerted and they quickly dispatched 3 ambulances to the scene where there were a total of five casualties.
One of the cars had its rear smashed in by another vehicle, as seen in the photo above.
As the SCDF and the police got to work around the accident site, heavy traffic congestion started to form, as reported by eyewitnesses.

While one other managed to witness the aftermath on his bus ride and described the sight as “horrific” before offering his prayers to those involved.
Currently, no fatalities have been reported, so let’s wish them a speedy recovery.
