So for someone in Bishan to be able to see the smoke in Jurong, you can bet that this could be one of the biggest fires in Singapore.

Well, that’s according to an eyewitness who told CNA about it, though from our office at Bukit Batok, which is much nearer, we couldn’t see the smoke.

Massive Fire in Jalan Buroh

This evening, at 5:45 p.m., the SCDF received a call regarding a fire at 43 Jalan Buroh.

People who were near the area and had SGsecure app installed would receive a notification to warn them to stay away from the area. Also, people who are on M1, Singtel and Starhub near the area would also receive an SMS to urge them to stay away from the area.

Jalan Buroh isn’t near Jurong East MRT Station but closer to Lakeside MRT Station. To people living in Jurong, it’s the so-called “Taman Jurong” area.

Throughout the Internet, people were posting videos and images of the fire.

Farther down the road is the SPC office and an SPC petrol station, so hopefully the fire can be contained soon.

According to a netizen, the smoke can be seen very clearly from the petrol station.
