He’s married to Xie Xingfang who’s a former badminton star. The couple gave birth to their first child earlier this month on 5 November.
If you do a search about him in the past, you would be flooded with all the achievements he has. But if you do a search on Lin Dan now, you would see all the news about his affair with actress and model, Zhao Yaqi.
On Thursday, November 17 intimate photos and gifs of Lin Dan and Zhao Yaqi was posted on Weibo with one gif showing them hugging in a hotel room.
In just 8 hours that post has generated over 420,000 likes, 115,000 shares and 660,000 comments.
The photos were posted by a user, ‘Detective Zhao’ who is a popular Weibo author for celebrity gossip. He claimed that the photos and gifs were taken in October.
Here are some of the top comments found on the post:
“Men who cheat when their wives are pregnant are complete f**king garbage”
“Apologize to your wife and son? Don’t know if you’ll have a wife and son”
“Your wife was about to give birth! What the f**k were you thinking?!”
“After a lifetime of winning, a crushing defeat. Was it really worth it?”
Lin Dan posted a short apology on his Weibo account, “As a man, I won’t make any excuses for myself, but my actions have hurt my family and I would like to apologize to them here. Sorry.”
Although Lin Dan has made a public apology, in my own opinion he has made an unforgivable mistake. Especially when he was having affair while his wife was heavily pregnant. Is an affair worth sacrificing so much?
