We all love the Geylang Serai Bazaar because you can get anything and everything there. The best thing about such bazaars is that all the stores are together at one location, so the only thing you need to do is to arm yourself with enough cash and you’ll be ready to go!
Oh, and don’t forget to bring portable fans with you too, because it’s going to get really, really warm in there.
Here are some of the things you need to know about the upcoming Geylang Serai Bazaar!

1. The Bazaar will take place for 5 weeks.
The Geylang Serai Bazaar will take place from 25 May to 25 June 2017. Other than the Geylang Serai Bazaar, there will also be cultural performances every weekend between May 20 and Jul 7 near Kampong Kembangan Community Club, as well as free screenings of P Ramlee films.
2. The bazaar will feature over 1,000 stores
The bazaar this year will feature over 1,000 stores selling new snacks including candy floss burritos, “poke bowls” and “rainbow planet” ice cream buns. You’ll still find some of the older stalls such as the Watermelon Volcano and Macaron ice cream sandwiches there!
3. If you are interested, booths can be rented at S$90 per day
In a recent Facebook post, it’s said that the booths can be rented at S$90 per day.
It was mentioned that the event attracted over 700,000 people last year. So at just S$90, your brand will get exposure to a rather huge crowd – and the booths will be better than the ones at Artbox Singapore #justsaying.
4. The exact locations for the Geylang Serai Bazaar have been revealed
According to a Facebook post, the exact venue of the Geylang Serai Bazaar will be held at the Malay Village, Engku Aman Road and Tanjong Katong Complex that’s facing Tanjong Katong Road.
5. There will also be countless of light exhibits in the area
Other than the Bazaar, another thing you should take note of would be the light exhibits around the area. The larger-than-life light displays have been fashioned after traditional Malay icons and the centrepiece of the light-up this year will incorporate a kampung.
6. There will also be an exhibition for you to find out more about the meaning behind Hari Raya
In an article by ChannelNewsAsia, there will also be a temporary exhibition to educate the public about the history of Hari Raya and of the Geylang Serai area. The exhibition will be housed in a structure that mimics the weave of a ketupat, or rice dumpling.
