Ex-Paramedic Fined $3,000 After Sending Photo of Dead Maid to Boyfriend

You know what they say, right?

If you’re getting into a relationship, make sure you get together with a decent guy because the wrong guy might just ruin your life. For life.

Well, that and do your job properly without breaking the rules.

Because if you don’t, this might happen to you too.

Paramedic GF Sent Picture Of Dead Maid To Boyfriend

Nurizzah Afiqah Hussain was a paramedic for a private ambulance operator (PAO), Unistrong.

On 1 Feb 2017, she was at the Marine Parade Fire Post in Marine Terrace when she received information about a maid who hung herself.

She took a picture of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) call sheet, which includes details about the case, and sent it to her boyfriend, Fazli Hisham Mohd Fairuz Shah.

The call sheet stated the statement of the employer, who claimed that the maid hanged herself while the family was away on holiday.

Ambulance Driver Took Picture of Dead Maid’s Body

For those who are more pantang (read: superstitious), you’re probably not going to take pictures of dead bodies.

I mean, that’s how the entire Shutter movie came about, no?

But that was what the medical personnel who responded to the case did.

29-year-old Shaik Haziq Fahmi Shaik Nasair Johar, the driver of the ambulance, took a picture of the body still hanging on the rope before they left the room.

Nurizzah even helped to shine a torch on the body so that he can take a nice picture.

He later sent the photo to a WhatsApp group which Nurizzah was part of. Following which, she forwarded that picture to her boyfriend.

Boyfriend Send Photos To Another WhatsApp Group

Remember what I said about picking a good boyfriend?

There are guys out there who like to share nudes of their gf with their friends. Except, this time, the fallout isn’t just embarrassment and humiliation.

It practically got her fired.

Most good boyfriends would take a look at the picture, swear a few thousand times and tell the girlfriend to knock it off.

Because he knows that she shouldn’t be doing that.

Unfortunately for Nurizzah, her boyfriend, Fazli simply sent the photos to yet another WhatsApp group. And the photos made their way onto social media.

Employers Lodged Police Report

With how powderful the social media is at spreading stuff, it wasn’t long before the maid’s agent saw the photos and informed the employer.

On 3 Feb, the police were alerted to the case and early this year, Nurizzah was arrested by the police.

And after investigations, the involved personnel were fired from their jobs. Including Nurizzah.

She pleaded guilty to two offences under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) and was fined $3,000.

For each offence under the OSA, she could’ve been jailed up to two years and fined up to $2,000.

Currently, she and her (hopefully ex?) boyfriend’s cases are pending.

Her lawyer, Xavier Lim, said that at that time, Nurizzah was traumatised by the image of the corpse hanging from the ceiling fan.

She had sent the photos to her boyfriend to seek emotional support and didn’t think of the consequences of doing so.
