Lest you’re unaware, Singaporeans have a real knack for stacking things.

The list, in all honesty, goes on and on.
And so, it’s hardly surprising why locals would want to stack the government-issued SingapoRediscovers Vouchers – which were created to support tourism businesses.
After all, if stacked in the right way, even a staycation at the grandest hotel in Singapore could become absolutely free.
Now I don’t know about you, but that sounds like an all-too-tempting notion in its own right.
STB Explains Why Stacking of SingapoRediscovers Vouchers is Not Allowed & It Makes Sense
Alas, it appears that stacking will not be allowed in this case.
Lest you’re not aware, the $100 vouchers cannot be stacked.
The vouchers also cannot be merged with those of their family and friends in the same redemption.
The Government has since issued an explanation for this particular “first-world crisis” at hand.
The Singapore Tourism Board stated that the decision was made to benefit more tourism businesses – which were the intended beneficiaries in the first place.
Previously, it was revealed that the point of the vouchers is to encourage locals to turn tourist and explore our own homeland and, in the process, help to support livelihoods and the tourism industry.
Had the government allowed consumers to stack or combine vouchers, the scheme would have lost its purpose.
“The vouchers are meant to support tourism businesses that have been badly affected by Covid-19,” said Mr Terrence Voon, director of communications and marketing capability at STB. “So we hope that Singaporeans can support as many businesses as possible.”
He added that by using vouchers personally, such counteractive notions as fraud and scams can also be prevented.
With the Hong Kong-Singapore Air Travel Bubble put on hold, the future of tourism in Singapore looks as bleak as ever.
By preventing Singaporeans from stacking vouchers, it encourages us to go out and spend more instead of whacking all the vouchers on “one single sale”.
SingapoRediscovers Vouchers
The $100 SingapoRediscoversVouchers will be issued to all Singaporeans aged 18 and above.
These vouchers can be used on various sectors of the tourism business – local attractions, hotel stays and tours.
Redemption will take place from 1 December 2020 to 30 June 2021, via five authorised booking partners:
- Changi Travel Services (a.k.a Changi Recommends)
- Klook
- Trip.com
- GlobalTix
- Traveloka
Each voucher reportedly comes in denominations of $10.
In order to redeem their SingapoRediscovers Vouchers for online bookings, Singaporeans will need to access their SingPass accounts to verify the transaction.
Dedicated counters will also be set up at 53 CCs across the island to assist Singaporeans.
SingapoRediscovers Vouchers ambassadors will be on site to assist and explain about the vouchers.
Booking counters are set to be incorporated at designated malls and SingPost locations as well.
However, consumers are only advised to come down if they genuinely need help.
Mr Voon said: “We encourage Singaporeans to come down to community centres only if you really need assistance in person, and please don’t rush as well because there is plenty of time to enjoy our tourism experience.”
You can check your balance here from 1 December onwards.
