If you were in the vicinity of the Ubi Industrial Estate, you might have heard some loud noises around the area.
Audi Singapore announced on a Facebook post that an explosion had occurred at Audi Service Centre at 55 Ubi Road 1 on 7 March, which caused part of the building’s wall on Level 1 to collapse.
They also shared that the centre will be closed until further notice to facilitate current investigations on the cause of the explosion.
In a new update, they said that the building is still certified safe for occupation, and they aim to resume normal operation by the end of this week.
Lianhe Zaobao stated that the explosion had left a huge hole in the wall of the building, and the debris created by the explosion even reached the nearby Oxley BizHub.
SCDF posted on Facebook as well that they had been alerted to the incident at 08:55 am.
Around 100 people had been evacuated from the building before they arrived.
Aside from one person who was sent to the Raffles Hospital after getting injured in a fall, no other injuries were reported.
