A Singaporean couple quit their jobs to take their 2 children, aged 2 and 5, on a one-year vacation visiting 28 countries.

They’ve visited Asia and Europe
This couple has managed to bring their kids backpacking and cycling in countries across Asia and Europe, including Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Mongolia. Just how amazing is that? Their kids are only so young!
They wanted to take a long holiday before the kids start school
Mr Sean Yau and his wife decided this perfect opportunity to take their kids around the world before they start primary school, in hopes that their children can learn to interact more with foreigners and open up their minds.
They’ve slept in tents
They mostly stayed in hostels, friends’ homes or rental apartments from Airbnb and Couchsurfing or event tents. Mr Yau finds that he has learnt a lot about the countries and their cultures this way.
Everyone is more involved
This has definitely created a stronger bond for their family since they do everything and make every decision together. They also face and solve problems together along their travels.
See the world in a different light
They’ve had many different experiences, and some of it were not as pleasant but this family has managed to overcome it. They also recalled how relieved and touched they were when strangers offered them homes to stay during the times they couldn’t book accommodation.
They spent between $25,000 to $30,000
The Yau family had spent between $25,000 to $30,000 for their visits to 28 countries. So if you have that amount of money which you’d like to use for travelling, you can also make your dream come true!
