48YO Son Slapped His Father on Father’s Day in AMK After He Failed to Ask His Mother for Money

If you’re still feeling down about feeling like your Father’s Day present to your dad last week wasn’t good enough, don’t worry.

You’re definitely not the person who gave their father the worst Father’s Day gift this year.

Because this man might actually be the one who did.

On Father’s Day last Sunday (18 June), a 48-year-old man was caught slapping his 76-year-old father.

According to a tip-off that Shin Min Daily News received, the man had gone to the hawker centre at Block 409 Ang Mo Kio at around 12 pm to ask his mother for money.

However, he was scolded by his father for doing so, which prompted him to slap his father.

Mother Works at the Hawker Centre, Father is a Wheelchair User

When Shin Min reporters visited the hawker centre, a hawker told them that the man’s mother works at the hawker centre’s drinks stall.

The hawker, who declined to be named, added that the 48-year-old man is unemployed and goes to the hawker centre every day to ask his mother for money.

She also said the man’s father only scolded him because he could no longer stand his son’s behaviour.

Apart from that, the hawker shared that the man’s parents are both in their 70s and that his father is a wheelchair user.

Based on a video taken at the scene, the man stood up after his father scolded him and walked towards him.

He then slapped his father right in front of everyone in public.

Yup, I did say that this man might have the record for the worst Father’s Day present ever.

Father Called Police After Incident, Has Not Appeared At Hawker Centre Since Incident

According to reports by Shin Min, the father called the police after his son hit him.

He told the police that he had been beaten, causing police officers and an ambulance to be deployed to the scene.

That aside, the hawker Shin Min spoke to revealed that she has yet to see the father appear at the hawker centre after the incident.

Mother Refused to Provide Details

Shin Min reporters also managed to find the man’s mother at the drinks stall she works at.

The mother, who is in her 70s, only revealed that her husband had been discharged and declined to share any more details.

When responding to queries from Shin Min, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed they received a call for help at around 12.45 pm that day.

A person was sent to Sengkang General Hospital afterwards.

The police responded to queries by stating they received a call for help at 11.55 am.

A 76-year-old man was sent to the hospital while conscious.

On the other hand, a 48-year-old is assisting with investigations, which are currently ongoing.
