Like every millennial out there obsessed with horoscopes, I read mine religiously every day.
When it comes to horoscopes, I’m the expert.
But Feng Shui? Nah.
“That’s for old people to believe” is what I tell others.
But if you’re an old person? Then this would scare you, just like some fake news about Pokemons taking over Yishun next month.
Feng Shui Master Claims Occupant’s “Door Got Problem”
A picture of a pamphlet from a Feng Shui Company was posted onto Hardware Zone.
The pamphlet criticises the placement of the occupant’s door. It claims that because the door is in the same Northwest direction as the annual ‘9’ star, it “blesses” the family living there with bad wealth, health and luck.
Here’s what the occupant would supposedly suffer this year because of a door:
- A very big Fengshui problem
- Your door is not prosperous at all
- That is why you and your family are facing
- Very bad financial difficulties
- Family members easily fall sick
- High probability of major sickness striking
- Abnormal children if your stove is in certain location
- All bad news come suddenly and unexpectedly
- Most of all – ALL matters will be failures
By the way, I’m not the one who bolded those text.
But no worries; a “free no obligations” consultation was offered by them at the end of the pamphlet.
The Company Behind This
A quick Facebook search on the Feng Shui Company, which we’re not going to name here, revealed that the place has a rating of 4.9 out of 5.
Turns out, they are pretty successful at what they do. Clients have written appreciation letters claiming an improvement in their lives.
I have to say that after looking at the testimonials… I’m pretty tempted to give it a try.
And then I start to think… maybe they just want to help. You know, just like Goody Feed coming out with an article an hour to help make Singapore a better place for Singaporeans, and not because our boss wants a new Mercedes.
But netizens think otherwise.
Scam Or Real?
Some pointed out that because Feng Shui is an annual thing, and occupants would have to spend money every year altering their house to suit the Feng Shui of that year.
Not a bad argument.
Reactions From Netizens
One was angry that he referred to children with disabilities as “abnormal”.
Some commented that they are just desperate for business but don’t deny that it’s a dumb tactic.
And some… were a little more savage.
Seriously, it’s one heck of a way to get people to engage them.
Scare tactics always work.
But then again…
Common HDB Layout?
According to a colleague, the layout of the HDB flat shown in the pamphlet is exactly the same as a new BTO in Sengkang, except that the door might not be in the Northwest direction.
Given that there are so many new BTOs, there are bound to be many facing the Northwest. Would that mean that many people are going to fall sick and lose their jobs!?
Also, the kitchen is so small that you can have only one or two areas to place your stove, unless you place it in the toilet. Heck, my colleague even said that it might be impossible to change the position altogether.
But anyways.
A fellow commenter also noticed this.
Anyways, I know of a solution to that.
Just buy a new flat instead. Simple, right? Now even got more grants leh.
Or maybe just head down to YouTube to find a solution?
