The headline might sound wrong and even clickbaity, but I allow you a few moments to digest it.
Get it now?
Yes, it has finally happened: someone has finally taken those online vigilantes who go around filming others for not masking up to task.
Sg-share Together Facebook Page, a page that shares viral videos that happened in Singapore, posted this video earlier this morning:
In it, it showed the cameraman filming a middle-aged man who wasn’t even looking at him. The cameraman then said in Chinese, “Uncle, don’t be violent.”
The middle-aged man, seeing that he’s being filmed, then shouted, “Hello!” then then hit the phone, shouting, “What are you filming for?”
And then the coward—I mean, the cameraman, said, “Damn it, don’t be violent!”
The uncle retorted, “What are you filming?”
The man replied, “I’m filming you!”

There appears to be some altercation after that as a child could be heard crying in the background. Maybe it’s the cameraman’s heart crying lah I don’t know.
The uncle could be heard saying, “This is none of your business; what are you filming? I don’t have a mask.” I’m not certain but he seemed to be saying that he was going to buy one in Hokkien.
The man then said, “Don’t go, don’t go.”
Netizens Sided With Unmasked Uncle
Violence is never an answer to anything, so you’d have thought that netizens would side with the cameraman.
No.
The issue of online shaming others via online policing isn’t gone well with the public, but despite that, it seems like these self-proclaimed righteous people are still doing it for that one-minute of fame.
This netizen provides the best (and most logical) feedback:
Guess not everyone gets the memo.
So if you’re thinking of doing some policing work of your own, think again.
