The movie theatre has always been associated with large groups and brisling laughter, incessant chatter and friendly embraces.
But in hindsight, it doesn’t have to be.
After all, do we not binge watch shows or movies by ourselves at home?
But alas, it appears that movie-watching is hardly done as a solo activity…
Filmgarde Launches Premium Cinema Hall at Kallang With First-Ever Premium Single Seating
… Until now.
Gone are the days when you have to sneak surreptitiously into a theatre to view a movie alone because you’re embarrassed about not going with friends.
It’s a changing world, and Filmgarde has recognised that in its entirety.
Or maybe this is a secret plot to get us to safe distance under the guise of luxury?
In a recent Facebook post, the Cineplex unveiled a lovely surprise that at their Leisure Park Kallang cinema:
Primo, an extravagant cinema hall that apparently comes with its own premium single seating!
Touted to be the first of its kind, the hall features uber-comfortable leatherette recliner chairs for you to unwind after a hard day/week of work.
And there’s even some “shelter” to prevent any unwanted side glances from the nosy strangers next to you.
It seems that at long last, we can finally enjoy glorious me-time in a cinema hall, complete with privacy, food and utmost comfort.
Dates
But if you’re going for a date, or with family and friends, you can look into their double-seated option: actual privacy cocoons.
The privacy cocoon is essentially a duo-version of the single seating, with a common armrest joining both seats.
As its name implies, it simulates a “cocoon” to ensure optimal privacy, with neighbouring seats cut off in distinct fashion.
In other words: zero disturbance.
Very sexy indeed.
Features
According to the Facebook post, the cinema hall will also come with two astounding features.
Firstly, it’s set to feature the biggest screen in its class.
And secondly, there will be an immersive 360 degres audio experience with the “best in-class cinematic sound”.
“All around you” would have never sounded more… sensually intrusive?
But we’re not complaining, of course.
You can also enjoy video coverage of the Primo hall here:
Pricing
According to their website, a Primo single seating option will cost S$30, and a double seating will cost S$54.
The tickets come complete with popcorn, water, Pringles, drinks and wet towels.
Filmgarde Cineplex is located on the third storey of Leisure Park Kallang, which is located a stone’s throw away from the Singapore Sports Hub.
