Fake it till you make it. Or at least try to.
Several “Financial Guru TikTokers” were recently exposed for their “fake it till you make it” plan. Netizens found out that what these financial gurus claimed to be their “private” jets weren’t so “private” after all.
Here’s what you need to know.

Malaysian “Financial Guru TikTokers” Used Same Plane to Film TikToks While Passing It Off As Their Private Jets
You’ve probably seen several TikTokers flexing their wealth on the short-form video platform—from influencers to self-proclaimed financial gurus, we’ve seen it all.
Most of us simply scroll these TikToks away; the Titanic memes are funnier anyway. Yet, some eagle-eyed netizens among us decided to do the entire online community a service and look closer into these TikToks.
And what they found out isn’t a surprise to anyone.
These netizens exposed the lavish lifestyles several Malaysian “Financial Guru TikTokers” lived as nothing but a facade.
Essentially, geh geh only.
Well, it’s basically what everyone suspected as well.
In one such TikTok, the “financial guru TikToker” is observed walking towards a plane with orange and green stripes and climbing up the steps to enter the aircraft.
Netizens later discovered that another TikToker had uploaded a video featuring what looked like the same plane with orange and green stripes.

This is followed by a clip of two men counting their stacks of cash on the jet.
It looks like a lot, but perhaps after you convert it to SGD, all you’ll be able to afford is a meal at Haidilao (pipe down, we’re just kidding).
At this point, we can’t even be sure if those bills are real.
A Malaysian company’s founder was also implicated in the expose.
Netizens have since called the TikTokers out for making it appear as if they owned the private jet when they were all using the same plane.

One particular netizen said, with tongue in cheek: “Do rich people rent a plane these days and then share it for a photo shoot together?”
Owning a private jet in this economy? Pfft.
Featured Jet is Currently in Penang; Last Flight Was Four Months Ago
One particular netizen went one step further to embrace his inner Batman—he looked into the “private” jet featured in the TikToks and confirmed netizens’ suspicions.
According to @mrturboprop on TikTok, the plane featured in the TikToks, registered under N888FJ in the United States, is grounded in Penang.
And it has been in Penang since its last flight four months ago. It has not flown any “financial guru TikTokers” for luxurious vacations around the world like netizens were led to believe.

Well, that’s awkward. Perhaps the “financial guru” scams aren’t working out. Maybe they should try selling products for TikTok shop instead.
