You must be thinking right now, which five guys are going to be coming to Singapore by the end of this year because of Zouk?
Don’t tell me… One Direction with Zayn miraculously back in the band?!
Sadly, nope. But here’s something to look forward to, in order to comfort your broken (secret) Directioner heart.
It’s not those five guys that will be coming to Singapore, but the famous American burger chain Five Guys instead, set to bring their monster burgers to our shores.
Burger City
2019’s really the year for burger enthusiasts in Singapore, with the opening of other famous overseas chains’ first stores here such as Shake Shack and London Burger & Lobster, both at Jewel Changi Airport.
Now that Five Guys, a big player in the burger industry over in the US, is added to the mix, Singapore’s about to become a burger paradise soon.
Zouk Group announced that they will be bringing in Five Guys to Singapore sometime in the fourth quarter of this year, between October to December.
Z…ouk?
It’s probably weird to you why a club would suddenly bring in a burger place, but in case you haven’t heard or simply don’t remember, they’ve also become an international lifestyle destination group.
Andrew Li, Chief Executive Officer of Zouk Group said: “Today, the Zouk Group takes its first big step towards diversifying our F&B offerings as we welcome Five Guys to Singapore. We have been very cautious when it comes to curating our lifestyle portfolio, in the sense that the brands we take on must share a similar synergy with the Zouk brand.”
“Five Guys, quite simply, ticks all the boxes – customer-centric, true to its vision and a commitment to providing only the best,” he added.
Zouk Group also doesn’t plan to stop here with bringing in more unique and popular F&B concepts to Singapore in the coming year, stating that this is but the first of many more announcements to come in future.
What’s So Special About Five Guys?
Founded by the Murrell family of Jerry and Janie and their five sons, it first opened in the US in 1986, serving freshly cooked burgers which only use fresh ground beef and peanut oil. Their beef isn’t frozen either and they claim to not have any freezers in any of their thousands of locations worldwide, only coolers.
Burgers at Five Guys are made-to-order and hand-crafted, where you have the option to load your buns with any of the 15 different free toppings they offer, such as grilled onions, jalapeno peppers and relish.
The best part? You can add as many as you want at no extra charge at all!
You know how we appreciate a good deal as long as you put the word “free” in it.
“We are delighted to be working with Zouk Group as we continue the Five Guys expansion in Asia-Pacific,” commented Paul Reynish, President & CEO of Five Guys International.
Five Guys already has over 1,600 outlets to date across North America, Europe and the Middle East, and are slowly inching their way into Asia.
Second Outlet In Asia
Singapore’s Five Guys outlet will be the second in Asia, the first having opened in Hong Kong last November.
As of now, however, there isn’t any information on where the first Five Guys outlet in Singapore will be opening.
Let’s just hope it’s not in Jewel, for the queues will be snaking for not one, not two, but THREE famous burger joints if so. I’m afraid the floor won’t be able to handle the crazy burger-loving crowd.
