Flight Attendant Climbed into Overhead Compartment to Greet Passengers

There are many things that you can find in an overhead compartment.

An oversized bag that should have been checked in instead.

A bag that doesn’t belong to you but is still above you.

A flight attendant.

If this sounds ridiculous to you, then good for you: you’ve no sense of humour because that lady’s up there to make you laugh.

Southwest Airlines, The Budget Airline from the US

Southwest Airlines is primarily a budget airline in the US for domestic flights, though it might be expanding to Canada and Europe.

According to the Department of Transport, the airline, despite it being a budget airline, surprisingly has the lowest number of complaints.

From the headline, I guess you can tell why.

Flight Attendant Climbed into Overhead Compartment

If you’ve ever wondered if the overhead compartment can hold your heavy dumbbell that you’ve decided to bring along for your trip, wonder no more: it can even hold the weight of a lady.

Last week, on 29 July 2019, a passenger was minding her own business, walking in the aisle of the plane that’s bringing her from Nashville to Atlanta when she saw a flight attendant lying on an overhead compartment.

In fact, it looks a tad comfortable for her, though it won’t be if I’m up there instead.

According to the passenger, the flight attendant was up there for a full five minutes, greeting passengers as they walked by. Everyone was laughing and she only came down after almost half the fight was boarded.

She then Tweeted her experience and Southwest Airlines official Twitter account replied with this:

Well, it turned out that the flight attendant was just trying to brighten everyone’s day.

Airline’s Response

It’s soon revealed that the airline approves of what the flight attendant’s doing, saying that their employees are “known for demonstrating their sense of humor and unique personalities.”

Unique, indeed.

For this flight that has since gone viral, the flight attendant “attempted to have a brief moment of fun with customers during boarding.”

We can only imagine what would happen if we see a Singapore Girl up there. The media would have a field day.
