If you have ever walked around Holland Village, you have probably noticed Fosters Steakhouse before.
We all have seen a fair share of shops that closed and opened throughout the whole stretch of Holland Village but not many can last long.
Fosters Steakhouse has truly stood the taste of time. However, after 62 years of operation, the iconic eatery has announced its closure.
For those who can relate, it’s that one restaurant that has a “backyard” area, near the steps leading to the Holland Village bus stop.
Many Important Memories Made
60 years of service is incredible and there is no doubt that many important memories for people from all walks of life have been made there.
In the Facebook post by Fosters Steakhouse, many long-time patrons of the eatery shared their precious memories in the comments.
One patron in particular said that she and her husband have many years of memories at the restaurant and also mentioned that it was the very place that her husband proposed to her at.
Another patron mentioned that he and his partner had their first date there 15 years ago.
Famous High Tea Set
Apparently, Fosters Restaurant is famous for their high tea set called the Devonshire Cream Tea Set, as evident by the comment section in their Facebook post.
The set ($13.50++) contains freshly-baked scones served with butter, home-made strawberry preserve, cakes, finger sandwiches and a freshly brewed cup of coffee or a pot of tea.
Some people claim that this is the most value-for-money tea set in Singapore due to the wide variety of items and low price point.
Set Lunch and Dinner at Affordable prices
Fosters Restaurant is also known for their affordable set meals.
Their lunch set consist of four items: a soup, main, dessert and drink. The price varies from $20.90++ to $22.90++ depending on which main dish you choose.
Do note that an additional $2 will be charged on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The dinner sets are separated into weekday menus and weekend menus.
For the weekday dinner menu, the set consist of a soup/ appetiser, main, dessert and drink. The price varies from $44++ to $55++ depending on your main.
For the weekend dinner menu, the set consist of a soup/ appetiser, main, dessert and drink and is priced at $54++ regardless of your main.
They also have a special dinner set that is available at $128++ throughout the week. It consist of a Wagyu Ribeye Steak, appetiser, dessert and a drink.
Farewell Party that is Open for All
Fosters steakhouse has shared that they will be having a farewell party on 25th October from 5 – 10pm and that people are free to come whenever they want.
People are also free to make a reservation anytime before their closure, so if you one to have one last meal at Fosters Restaurant, make sure to make one.
