Four people were taken to hospital after a four-car accident on the Central Expressway (CTE) during the evening peak period on Thursday, 17 September.
The police said they were alerted to the accident involving four cars at about 6.50pm. Three drivers, comprising two men and one woman aged between 43 and 62, as well as a 19-year-old female passenger, were taken to hospital while conscious.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it conveyed the four injured people to Singapore General Hospital.
Accident Happened Near Cairnhill Circle Exit
The crash occurred in the CTE tunnel towards the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), after the Cairnhill Circle exit.
Photos from the accident scene showed a red sports car with damage to its bonnet near a chevron marking, while rescue personnel were also seen at the scene.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) posted on X at around 7pm that there was an accident on the CTE towards AYE after Cairnhill Circle. It warned of congestion stretching until Moulmein Road and advised motorists to avoid lane three.
Police Investigations Ongoing
Police said two drivers, a 39-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man, are assisting with investigations.
No further details on the cause of the accident or the condition of those taken to hospital have been released.
