Four men aged between 17 and 19 were arrested for their suspected involvement in two attempted robberies targeting victims selling luxury watches online.
Police received a call for assistance at Block 432 Clementi Avenue 3 at about 1:44pm on 28 May 2025. Two teens had allegedly tried to rob a victim who listed a luxury watch for sale on Carousell.
Teens Armed with Knife Target Luxury Watch Sellers on Carousell
The victim arranged to meet the potential buyers at the Clementi Housing and Development Board block. When he arrived, the two teens attempted to cover his head with a plastic bag.

One of them was armed with a knife.
The victim managed to escape and called the police immediately.
Officers from Clementi Police Division identified the suspects through follow-up investigations. They arrested both teens on the same day.
Police also seized the knife which had been discarded by the teenagers.
Similar Robbery Attempt Occurred The Day Before at Same Location
Police investigations revealed that the same two men, along with another two men, had allegedly attempted a similar robbery on 27 May 2025.
The victim in this earlier incident had also listed a luxury watch for sale on Carousell. He was similarly lured to meet a potential buyer at Block 432 Clementi Avenue 3.
When the victim arrived at the block, he felt suspicious of the circumstances and managed to leave before being robbed.
The two other teens involved in the 27 May incident were subsequently arrested on 28 May 2025.

Charges Filed Against Suspects, Police Issue Safety Advisory
The two men involved in the 28 May incident will be charged in court on 30 May 2025 with attempted armed robbery.
One of the teens involved in the 27 May incident will be charged with attempted robbery on 30 May 2025. The remaining suspect will be investigated for being part of a criminal conspiracy to commit robbery.
Those found guilty of attempted armed robbery may be jailed for two to seven years and face at least 12 strokes of the cane. For attempted robbery, the offence is punishable with imprisonment for two to seven years and at least six strokes of the cane.
Police advised members of the public to be alert and attentive to their surroundings when meeting potential buyers or sellers. This is especially important when carrying valuables or large sums of cash.
Members of the public should avoid going to secluded places and report any suspicious persons or activities to the police immediately.
