6 years after the original movie struck the world in a wave of ice cold sensation, Frozen is back.
One of the hottest coldest Disney princesses is returning with her sister to once again to freeze our hearts.
Since the sensational hit song “Let It Go” broke the charts and won an Oscar, all the fans have been clamouring for a sequel.
They had nothing to go on about, until Kristen Bell, the voice actress for Anna, happily announced it on her Twitter in 2015.
Despite the confirmation of a sequel, no real information about Frozen 2 was given.
Fans naturally took it upon themselves to come up with theories and rumours about its possibilities, such as speculation that Elsa would be getting a girlfriend in this movie.
After Elsa was considered to have broken the ice ceiling on female lead characters in the original movie, I guess the LGBT community are hoping for their turn. They have also based their speculations on the lyrics of the aforementioned song “Couldn’t keep it in, heaven knows I’ve tried” and “Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know”.
But it all changed.
Teaser Trailer
The teaser trailer for Frozen 2 hit the Internet 3 months ago and sent the Internet into a frenzy. While the trailer itself did not reveal anything significant, it did include dazzling footage of its action scenes.
The trailer also featured two young characters, which fans on Twitter speculated to be the children of Anna and Kristoff.

While Anna does appear noticeably slightly more mature, I personally find it slightly improbable that so much time has passed since the first movie for Anna and Kristoff to have children this grown.
It also came with the news of two new cast members – Evan Rachel Wood (best known for her role in the HBO series Westworld) and Sterling K. Brown (best known for his role in the NBC drama series This Is Us). Their characters in the movie remained undisclosed.
Official Trailer
On 11 June 2019, the official trailer was dropped by the Walt Disney Animation Studios YouTube channel.
While it retained the scene of Elsa battling a monstrous sea wave (perhaps as practice), almost everything else was fresh.
With a new array of glimmering gorgeous graphics to wonder at, the trailer sends us more footage from various major action scenes through the movie to get us hyped – still without revealing anything significant.
How do they do it?! Is it magic?!
Given that the teaser trailer smashed the records and became the most watched animated trailer in 24 hours, there’s a very good chance that Elsa and Anna will break the ice on the box office records and perhaps beat its prequel to become the highest grossing animated film.
At a whopping $1.27 billion, Frozen (2013) currently still holds the record for the highest-grossing animated film of all time.
Frozen 2 is currently to be released in Singapore theatres on 21st November 2019.
For now, we have nothing else to go on about, no matter how excited you are to see your animated girl crush in the cinema again.
So just let it go.
