South Korean rapper G-Dragon has denied dating rumours involving Sana from K-pop girl group Twice.
The speculation began after G-Dragon tagged Sana’s Instagram account in a post about Twice’s performance.
G-Dragon’s Instagram Tag Sparks Dating Speculation with Twice’s Sana
The 36-year-old rapper, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, attended Coldplay’s Seoul concert on 22 Apr 2025. Twice performed as special guests at the concert.
Following the show, G-Dragon shared a video of Twice’s performance on his Instagram story. He only tagged Sana’s personal Instagram account and left out the other members of Twice.
The story was quickly deleted, but it became a hot topic.
Agency Statement Links Instagram Post to YouTube Show Collaboration
Galaxy Corporation, G-Dragon’s agency, released a statement on Monday (2 Jun 2025) denying the dating rumours.
The agency clarified that the Instagram post was simply a friendly gesture because the two of them had been involved in the filming of the YouTube web show Dex and Sana’s Fridge Interview.
The filming took place on 14 Apr 2025.
“He posted a photo from the concert and tagged Sana’s personal account as a friendly gesture, since it had not been long since the shoot,” the agency said. The agency added that they didn’t explain earlier because they thought it could be a spoiler for the show.
Fan Backlash Over Dating Denial
G-Dragon’s statement sparked massive backlash against him, with accusations of starting drama.
It seems that this has resulted in some backlash against Sana as well. On the Twice member’s latest posts, many have commented demanding that she apologise for the negative responses from fans against G-Dragon.
The idol’s comments were also flooded by fans in an attempt to drown out the negative responses. Many also assured the idol that she did not need to make an apology, and instead offered words of support.
