Everybody knows Gardens by the Bay, right?
That’s the place which has Supertrees and attracted people to fly to Singapore from all over the world.
The gardens have received 50 million visitors since it opened in Singapore 6 years ago.
And if those numbers aren’t impressive enough, they’re expecting 12 million people to visit Gardens by the Bay every single year.
Well, guess what? They’re upping their game.
The famous gardens are upgrading themselves with not one, not three but two new attractions for visitors to enjoy.
Floral Fantasy
This new attraction will have four themed garden landscapes.
Including hanging floral going up and down from the top of the dome. Kind of like the droplets display at Changi Airport, except with plants instead of water droplets.
And a 4D-multi-sensory ride that shows you what it feels like to flit through the gardens as a dragonfly.
The exhibition will also have an indoor and outdoor event space where weekend pop-up markets and community events can be held.
Who knows, your next Art Box could just be held here.
This is scheduled to open to the public on 14 Apr 2019.
Serene Garden
Singapore’s a pretty fast-paced country and we all need our little spots of serenity and peace on the island.
If you feel the same way I do, then you’re probably going to visit this latest attraction in Gardens By The Bay.
Aptly named the Serene Garden, it’s a Japanese-themed garden designed by Japanese landscape designer Jun-ichi Inada.
It has a mini waterfall (yes, a waterfall) and 160 rocks brought in from the town of Niyodogawa town on Shikoku island in Japan.
This attraction has already opened to the public on Saturday but they’re still carrying out works to build a tea pavilion for visitors to rest.
The tea pavilion, they said, will be ready in the first half of 2019.
But shade or no shade, this minimalist-inspired garden is still a must-visit for couples who fancy a quiet, romantic walk and, of course, #OOTDs.
Just don’t turn the garden into another Mt Faber. Please.
Here, you can watch a video preview of the new attraction yourself below:
The latest attractions are built in an effort to expand their offerings to the public.
The CEO of Gardens by the Bay, Felix Loh, said that they’ve been receiving feedback that the gardens are getting too crowded, especially on the weekends.
With this latest move, they hope to “spread out their offerings” and offer more “interesting experiences” to their visitors and supporters.
