Singapore’s 2025 General Election has concluded with the People’s Action Party (PAP) securing a decisive victory, winning 87 out of 97 contested seats with 65.57% of the popular vote.

The team, which included Minister of State for Health and Digital Development Rahayu Mahzam, Minister of State for Transport and Law Murali Pillai, former Hougang candidate Lee Hong Chuang, and newcomer David Hoe, received 99,345 votes against RDU’s 30,248 votes.
This newly formed GRC consists of parts of the former Jurong GRC, Bukit Batok SMC, Yuhua SMC, and Hong Kah North SMC.
The strong performance continues the PAP’s tradition of dominance in the Jurong area, where the former Jurong GRC led by current President Tharman Shanmugaratnam had secured 74.6% of votes in 2020.
Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC (4 Seats)

The WP had focused their campaign on criticising the PAP’s last-minute move to field DPM Gan in this constituency, but their team led by senior counsel Harpreet Singh only managed to garner 44.83% of the votes.
This was one of the more competitive races, but still resulted in a clear PAP victory.
Sembawang GRC (5 Seats)

The WP had targeted eastern constituencies like Tampines as part of their expansion strategy, but fell just short of victory.

This represents a significant 8.32 percentage point improvement for the PAP compared to the 2020 election, where they narrowly won West Coast GRC with just 51.69% of the vote.
The 2025 General Election has resulted in the PAP securing 87 seats, while the WP retained its 10 seats.
Prime Minister Lawrence Wong described the results as “a clear signal of trust, stability and confidence in your government”.
