Theft at Orchard Central

On 25 August 2024, around 2:30am, Yamaguchi and her friend, 29-year-old Lee Suet Keay Cheryl, loaded 27 items into a cart at the 24-hour Japanese discount store and left without paying.

Items included makeup, skincare products, a Sanrio tote bag, and various food products. Specific goods noted in court documents included a Colorrose Queen’s Cameo Blush (S$30.90), two Melano CC Brightening Essences (S$25 each), and a Sanrio tote bag (S$67.90).

The total value was S$628.90.

Police Investigation and Arrest

A staff member recognised the pair and informed the manager.

CCTV footage confirmed the theft, and a police report was filed.

Yamaguchi and Lee were apprehended a month later, though only nine of the 27 stolen items were recovered. Yamaguchi reimbursed Don Don Donki for the stolen items.
