From amusement parks, air-con weather, to a huge casino, Genting Highlands has it all. However, it seems that a new “attraction” has recently surfaced at Genting Highlands — a “mind-control gang”.
This month, a man was allegedly “hypnotised” by members of a “mind-control gang” in Genting Highlands. Resorts World Genting is currently investigating the incident.
Man Allegedly “Hypnotised” By “Mind-Control Gang” in Genting Highlands
On 1 December, a post surfaced on XiaoHongShu which caught the attention of many netizens. The post, uploaded by Fandy Kan, claimed that her family had run into members of a “mind-control gang” at Genting Highlands.
In the post, Kan wrote that her family was purchasing dinner when their encounter with the “mind-control gang” happened.
According to Kan, a Chinese woman carrying a two- or three-year-old child had suddenly approached her father. When this happened, Kan’s father was standing about a metre behind Kan and her other family members.
The Chinese woman then asked Kan’s father whether he could buy you tiao for her child. The woman allegedly pressed herself and her child up against Kan’s father as well.
Kan added that the woman also repeated her request not once, not twice, but thrice.
Wow… The woman must really love you tiao.
And this is where something strange happens. According to Kan, her father hardly spends money at Genting Highlands due to the steep prices there. Yet, instead of walking away from the woman, Kan’s father acceded to the woman’s request — he smiled and agreed to buy you tiao for the woman’s child.
Seeing this, Kan immediately thought that something was wrong. She went up to her father and led him away from the woman.
The end.
We’re kidding — that’s far from the end of the story. After all, it’s a mind-control gang we’re talking about. There’s bound to be more than one person involved.
At this point, as Kan attempted to lead her father away, a second member of the alleged “mind-control gang” appeared. A Chinese man suddenly approached Kan and her family, and asked if Kan needed to hold onto her father so tightly.
Kan added that although the man stared at her, she avoided eye contact with the man for fear of being “hypnotised” as well.
Man Claimed That The Hypnotist Smelled Faintly of Jasmine
So, was Kan’s father indeed “hypnotised” by members of a “mind-control gang”? According to him, it appears that he was.
After the incident, he shared with Kan that the woman who approached him smelled faintly of jasmine. He also claimed that when the woman spoke, he would respond instinctively without thinking much.
But that’s not all — he also claimed that he did not realise anything was wrong until Kan had forcefully tapped his shoulder. It was as if he had suddenly “woken up”.
Other Netizens Share Similar Experiences; Resorts World Genting Investigating the Incident
Some other netizens have also shared in the post’s comments section that they have had similar experiences with such members of the “mind-control gang”.
One netizen shared that they had a similar encounter just last month in Genting Highlands.
Another netizen commented with a photo of the alleged members of the “mind-control gang”. Kan responded to the photo, claiming that the people seen in the photo are indeed the same people she encountered.
Another netizen shared that they had encountered the same woman multiple times. Presumably, the netizen was referring to the woman seen in the photo above.
Even Resorts World Genting took notice of Kan’s post, and left a comment stating that it would be investigating the incident.
