IKEA outlets are amazing places.

When it comes to a one-stop solution, they have it in spades.

They have lots of furniture for you to see, feel and sit on if you like, a restaurant that sells food so good you have people going there just to have a meal, and they have a play area for parents to foist their kids at for a couple of hours.

But for this particular family of a two-year-old girl, their plans for a pleasant trip to IKEA was disrupted in the worse possible way.

2-Year-Old Girl Left at Tampines IKEA Playroom

On 7 February, Facebook user Chanel Koh uploaded a post to highlight her experience with IKEA Tampines.

At around 3.45 pm on 7 Feb, she was at IKEA with her two-year-old niece, her brother and her sister-in-law.

Her niece checked in to the play area while she stood outside and watch.

It was mentioned that adults are not allowed into the playroom.

Girl Suddenly Dunked Into The Ball Pool By A Boy

Her niece has only entered the play area for just five minutes when a three-year-old boy crept up and jumped on her niece’s body, burying her head and body under the sea of balls.

Her niece was allegedly screaming and crying for help, but nobody responded.

When she knocked on the glass, the boy noticed her presence and smiled at her.

According to her, she had to shout before an IKEA staff finally noticed the situation and went in to drag the boy off the girl.

By then, she claimed, her niece was crying badly.

Boy’s Guardians Tried To Push Blame & Was Allegedly Unremorseful

Just like any concerned and angry auntie, Koh immediately demanded to meet with the boy’s guardian.

And a woman, who claimed to be the auntie of the boy, met with her.

To her horror, she realised that she was joined by a man (an expat, according to her) who had been standing outside the playroom and did nothing.

The auntie (of the boy) tried to play it off as “young boys play rough, you know?” but Koh wasn’t able to accept that explanation.

The man, on the other hand, tried to shift the blame and said the incident’s fault lies solely with IKEA.

Because they refused to allow adults to accompany the kids, that’s why things like this happened.

The boy finally apologised unwillingly and the girl’s family decide to let the matter rest.
