On 28 September, as the MRT disruption was still ongoing, another disruption hit Singapore – this time affecting Grab services.
Grab Reportedly Experiencing Service Disruption Affecting Credit Card Payment
On September 28, 2024, Grab experienced a service disruption affecting credit card payment options for some users in Singapore.

Users reported being unable to use credit cards on the Grab app due to what the company described as a “service disruption”. According to some users, credit card payment options were greyed out in the app, leaving GrabPay as the only available payment method.
GrabPay top-ups using credit cards were also not functioning.
A notice in the app stated: “Some linked methods are temporarily unavailable due to service disruption”.
According to Downdetector, the outage started around 1:00 PM.
