Grab Driver Helps Buy McD Meal for Passenger When Passenger’s Fiance Requested for It

Here’s a fair warning for all boyfriends and husbands: make sure your girl doesn’t know about this story.

Because trust me, once they know this, it’s going to go the why-other-people’s-BF/Husband-is-like-that-and-you-like-wood-like-that route.

And if you’re a girl reading this, do remember to share this with your boy, though I’m pretty sure you don’t need this prompt.

The Romantic Grab Ride That Has Got Viral

Do you know that you can call a Grab for someone else? Well, it’s easy: you just do it. (WTF am I writing but you get the drift)

So, a guy, whom we should fondly call Han because that’s Twitter handle, posted several screenshots of his love story on Twitter and it has garnered well over 1.1K Retweets: not bad considering that the number of Twitter users in Singapore is not exactly a lot.

To cut long story short, here’s what happened:

Han called a Grab for his fiancée, and told the Grab driver to buy a McDonald’s meal while fetching his fiancée home. The romantic genes in Han wanted it to be a surprise (who the heck could have made such a small thing a surprise?!), so the driver was instructed (very politely, by the way) to pretend that it’s for himself, but apparently is for the fiancée.

Han would transfer the cost of the meal to the driver.

Here’s the conversation Han has with his fiancée lest you’ve not gone through the Tweet:

And putting her image as the background in WhatsApp?

That itself is a win liao.

Here’s the meal that started it all:

Cool.

But honestly speaking, I’m more impressed by the Grab Driver.

The Grab Driver That Should be Named Online and Praised Left Right Centre

Before anything, take a look at the conversation Han has with the Grab driver.

My first thought is that she really shouldn’t be having McSpicy at 2:00 a.m., but anyways.

If there’s an option to give more than 5 stars, I’m pretty sure Han and his fiancée would do it.

You see, taking away the driver’s friendliness and helpfulness, he’s also forgoing a lot of things:

  • Time taken to buy the meal: to any private-hire driver, time is money
  • Extra petrol money: he’s burning more petrol just to buy the meal
  • Risk of kena Stomped: imagine your Grab driver saying that he needs to buy a McDonald’s meal while sending you to your destination

Well, from the look of the conversation, the driver himself is also impressed with Han.

Good job, Han, for spoiling the market.

And also good job, Nameless Grab Driver. Hopefully someone CSI you out, because that’s what the Internet should be about.

And finally, good luck, boyfriends / husbands who are reading this.
