The single father of two worked as a Diamond-rated Grab driver. He reportedly clocked 15 to 16 hours behind the wheel every day.

A friend who posted the death notice said Neo didn’t smoke or drink. He simply worked himself to the bone to support his family.

“He was a Diamond driver who worked 15 to 16 hours daily, didn’t smoke or drink, just to feed his family,” the friend wrote. “Hope his passing reminds everyone to pay more attention to their health.”

Liang had suffered the stroke three days before his death on Thursday morning, 29 May.

Family Struggles With Sudden Loss

When Shin Min Daily News reporters visited the wake on Friday evening, Neo’s sister said the family was still reeling from the shock.

She thanked the public for their overwhelming response to the online death notice. “We appreciate it, but hope everyone can give the family some space,” she said.

The sister revealed that Neo worked incredibly hard every day. His two children are still studying, so he had to grind out long hours to pay the bills. His daughter currently lives overseas with her mother and hasn’t returned to Singapore for the funeral yet.
