GrabFood Rider Told to Help a Customer Put a Live Chicken into Cage ‘Coz a Cat Might Eat It

Being a food delivery rider isn’t easy, to say the least.

Not only do you have to melt under the unrelenting sun throughout the day, but you also have to put up with difficult customers.

Some will scold you for coming too late, some will give you a long list of special instructions for their food, and others will ask you to cage their chicken so a cat doesn’t eat it.

But at the end of the day, you-

What?

Reader: What was the last thing you said?

At the end of the day?

Reader: No, before that?

Customers can be difficult?

Reader: THE CHICKEN, YOU IDIOT, THE CHICKEN THAT NEEDS TO BE CAGED!

Oh right, that. Well, it’s quite a funny story.

GrabFood Rider Told to Help a Customer Put a Live Chicken into Cage ‘Coz a Cat Might Eat It

A GrabFood rider has taken to social media to recount an amusing encounter with one of his customers.

The rider, Brandon Ng, detailed the incident in a Facebook post yesterday (5 May).

That day started out like any other for Ng. He went from household to household delivering food to hungry customers.

Then, one customer made a rather odd request: cage my chicken.

While the request had some rather strong sexual overtones, it was not an innuendo; this customer really had a chicken and wanted it caged.

Here are the instructions Ng received:

“Please leave the food at the gate will do. Btw if u see chicken running around outside, plz help me put it back in the cage for me yea, later the cat eat thx.”

Ng believed the request was a joke, because he didn’t actually expect to see a chicken outside the customer’s house.

But lo and behold, he found a chicken chilling outside the customer’s house.

“Customer had some weird request. didn’t expect there will really be a chicken lol wtf”, he wrote in his post.

Amused, Ng shared a picture of him next to the chicken, who must have been as confused as he was.

Chicken is Safe, Has Been Placed Back in Cage

Fortunately, even though there were no cats seen lurking in the picture, Ng commented that he had indeed put the chicken back in its cage.

So, the next time you’re thinking of berating your food delivery rider for coming a little late or making a mistake with your order, remember that some of them are literally putting chickens in cages out of the kindness of their hearts.
