Remember how Michael Fay was caned for vandalism back in 1993?

Well, someone clearly didn’t get the memo, because there’s been another case of serious vandalism recently.

The graffiti was spotted on 1 Mar 2025.

Reporters from 8World visited the area near Block 273 at Toh Guan Road and found graffiti marks on at least two pillars along Pandan River.

One pillar displayed a cartoon cat with the numbers “1” and “3” written below it. A nearby pillar had the numbers “2” and “4” written on it.

At least three pillars were found vandalized. Other pillars in the area showed scratches and names written with markers.

Police Response

When the reporters were on site, three police officers arrived to investigate. One officer wore a shirt with the word “Forensics” printed on it.

The officers placed numbered markers beside the graffiti and took photos as evidence.

Similar acts of vandalism were also reported on pillars near Ulu Pandan MRT Depot and along the Ulu Pandan Park Connector area.

The Singapore Police Force has confirmed receiving reports about both incidents. They stated that investigations into the cases are ongoing.
