Over 1.5 Million Singaporeans to Receive Up to S$850 in Cash from 6 Aug

The Ministry of Finance announced on 7 Jul 2025 that over 1.5 million eligible adult Singaporeans will receive up to S$850 in cash as part of the Goods and Services Tax Voucher (GSTV) disbursement.

Eligible recipients will start receiving their payments from 6 Aug.

Income Threshold Raised as 1.5 Million Singaporeans Set to Receive Cash Payouts

The assessable income threshold for GSTV – Cash payouts has been increased from S$34,000 to S$39,000, effective from August 2025.

The ministry stated that this adjustment reflects the improved incomes of lower- and middle-income Singaporeans while maintaining the coverage of the scheme.

Adult Singaporeans with assessable incomes of up to S$39,000 and living in homes with annual values of up to S$21,000 will receive S$850. Those whose homes have annual values of between S$21,000 and S$31,000 will receive S$450.

GST Voucher MediSave Top-ups for 690,000 Eligible Seniors

Approximately 690,000 eligible Singaporean seniors will receive between S$150 and S$450 in MediSave top-ups as part of GSTV – MediSave. The payments will be automatically credited to their CPF MediSave Accounts.

For the 2025 cash payout, eligible recipients must be Singapore citizens residing in Singapore, aged 21 and above in 2025, with assessable income for year of assessment 2024 not exceeding S$39,000.

The annual value of their home must not exceed S$31,000 as of 31 Dec 2024, and they must not own more than one property.

For MediSave top-ups, eligible recipients must be Singaporean seniors aged 65 and above in 2025, residing in Singapore, who own no more than one property and whose homes have an annual value not exceeding S$31,000 as of 31 Dec 2024.

Total Disbursement of S$1.5 Billion Through Automatic Payment System

The Ministry of Finance revealed that a total of S$1.5 billion will be disbursed in this GSTV exercise.

Eligible recipients will automatically receive their payments from 6 Aug 2025 if they have previously signed up for GSTV – Cash and GSTV – MediSave. They will be notified via SMS or letter when their benefits have been credited.
