The Note 7 was Samsung’s hidden ace against Apple, their rival in the smartphone industry and the iPhone 7. They’ve even managed to launch the phone earlier than their competitor, giving them a huge lead.
Unfortunately, it all backfired (literally) when their devices malfunctioned.
The batteries overheated and the phone exploded
In order to salvage their reputation, Samsung reacted to the crisis. They quickly issued a worldwide recall of the Note 7 and halted all shipments and sales of these devices.
Everything was well again and Samsung was praised for their quick actions until the replaced device overheated again.
The butt of many jokes
Ever since news of Samsung Note 7 exploding in houses hit the news, both mainstream and internet, they have been the butt of many jokes.
But this is the mother of all jokes

An extremely creative modder (people who made mods) HitmanNiko made a game mod for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5inspired by the exploding Samsung Note 7.
No matter whether you’re into GTA 5 or not, you’ll definitely be able to appreciate the joke. Just a disclaimer, the Note 7 devices are not as explosive as the ones in the game.
